In the 2007-08 season Great Shelford FC's first team came a close second in the Kershaw Pemier Division and were runners up in the Cliff Bullen Cup. The reserves had a difficult season in the BIS Division 1A and will consequently be playing in Division 2A next season. The 'A' team were runners up in the BIS Division 4A and also runners up in the Bambridge Cup. The team will playing in Division 3A in the 2008-09 season.
The 2006-07 season saw all of the teams winning trophies. The first team were Kershaw Premier League champions and also won the Terry Wilson Trophy. The reserve team won the Foster Cup and the 'A' team won the Reg Haigh & Arthur Peck Cup. A number of players have also been selected for representative and county teams.
Great Shelford FC teams play on what is regarded as one of the best playing surfaces in the county. Players and supporters can also enjoy post match drinks in the social club.
Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
